Salesforce
A key commercialization shot
01 · EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Executive Summary
The key change was not another agent launch. Salesforce aligned agent usage, ARR, bookings and company-wide operating metrics. Agentforce ARR exceeded $1.5 billion and Agentforce plus Data 360 ARR approached $3.9 billion.
The ACIS AI Software score rises from 90 to 92 and the phase advances to Commercial Proof Strengthening. This is not a blanket chase signal: revenue quality, metric scope, inference costs, free cash flow and valuation must be assessed together.
02 · COMPANY-WIDE PROOF
Salesforce Company-Wide Proof
Salesforce Q2 FY2027 revenue reached $11.3 billion, up 11%, while subscription and support revenue rose 12% to $10.8 billion. cRPO reached $33.5 billion, up 14% in constant currency, showing that forward revenue is not supported by AI narrative alone.
GAAP operating margin was 20.5% and non-GAAP operating margin was 34.1%. Operating cash flow rose 71% to $1.3 billion and free cash flow rose 81% to $1.1 billion. Revenue, bookings, margin and cash flow moving together provide deeper confirmation than any single agent metric.
| Validation | Current Read | Implication |
|---|---|---|
| Salesforce Revenue | $11.3B | +11% Y/Y |
| cRPO | $33.5B | +14% Y/Y CC |
| Agentforce ARR | > $1.5B | +240% Y/Y |
| Agentforce + Data 360 | ~ $3.9B | +210% Y/Y |
| Agentic Work Units | 7.0B | 3.2B in Q2 |
| Free Cash Flow | $1.1B | +81% Y/Y |
03 · AGENTFORCE ECONOMICS
Agentforce Economics
Agentforce ARR exceeded $1.5 billion, up more than 240%, while Agentforce and Data 360 ARR approached $3.9 billion, up more than 210%. Salesforce delivered 7.0 billion Agentic Work Units to date, including 3.2 billion in Q2, up 97% sequentially; premium Agentforce SKU bookings more than doubled.
Agentforce ARR now includes other AI offerings, Slackbot and Headless 360, while the combined metric also includes Data 360. The evidence confirms commercialization, but not all growth should be labeled pure organic Agentforce growth.
04 · PEER VALIDATION
Peer Validation
ServiceNow Q2 subscription revenue reached $3.877 billion, up roughly 25%, and full-year subscription guidance rose to $15.76–$15.78 billion. Its value lies in workflow, permissions and the AI Control Tower: enterprises need governance across models and agents, not merely generated answers.
Palantir Q2 U.S. commercial revenue grew 149%, showing AI entering high-value decision workflows, although valuation demands exceptional execution. Datadog Q2 revenue rose 36% to $1.12 billion, with about 4,720 customers above $100,000 ARR; AI complexity is lifting observability, security and autonomous remediation demand.
05 · VALUE STACK
Where Agent Value Accrues
Value first accrues in enterprise data, identity, permissions and systems of record: agents must know what they may access, whom they may represent and how to complete real work.
Governance, observability and billing follow. More agents increase hallucination, security, cost and permission risks; subscriptions, seats, consumption or outcome pricing must produce durable gross profit.
06 · CATALYSTS & RISKS
Catalysts & Downgrade Triggers
Over the next 90 days, watch whether Salesforce cRPO and revenue continue to accelerate, whether agent usage drives renewals and expansion, and whether ServiceNow, Microsoft, Google and Datadog provide further confirmation.
Downgrade triggers include slowing Agent ARR, expanding metric scope obscuring organic growth, inference costs eroding margins, pilots failing to enter production and valuation outrunning earnings and free cash flow.
07 · PORTFOLIO VIEW
Portfolio View
Keep Microsoft and Google as core platform exposure, with ServiceNow as a workflow and governance layer. Salesforce moves from awaiting proof to commercialization confirmed. Palantir and Datadog remain operationally strong, but sizing must respect valuation.
Continue to stage entries on pullbacks rather than chase post-earnings momentum. The AI software direction is confirmed; that does not make every entry price correct.
