Palantir and ServiceNow Move Enterprise AI Into Revenue and Cash Verification, While Order and Accounting Gaps Remain
AI Software Weekly | Issue 013 | 3 November 2026
Enterprise AI no longer rests only on customer counts and ARR narratives. Revenue, RPO, CFO and FCF are now visible, but contract duration, accounting adjustments and valuation still determine shareholder returns.
Public research | Full access
The evidence chain advances. Palantir delivered $2.313bn of Q3 revenue and $1.216bn of adjusted FCF. ServiceNow reported $3.988bn of subscription revenue, $13.65bn of cRPO and raised its AI ACV target to $1.7bn. Yet Palantir total RPO rose only about 0.4% sequentially, while ServiceNow non-GAAP FCF and GAAP operating profit require adjustment discipline. The industry score rises 90→91; the investment state does not upgrade automatically.
The one-minute brief
Palantir reported on 2 November Q3 revenue of $2.313bn, U.S. commercial revenue of $984m—above U.S. government revenue for the first time—165% net dollar retention and $1.216bn of adjusted FCF at a 53% margin. Total RPO, however, rose only to about $4.90bn from roughly $4.88bn in Q2, far slower than revenue, while SBC and related taxes still require an owner-cash review. ServiceNow reported on 28 October $3.988bn of subscription revenue, $13.65bn of cRPO and a $1.7bn 2026 AI ACV target; Q3 CFO was $839m and non-GAAP FCF $822m. The two companies validate enterprise-AI revenue and cash conversion without removing comparability or valuation risk.

Enterprise AI moved from usage narrative into financial verification. Palantir produced two point three one three billion dollars of quarterly revenue and one point two one six billion of adjusted free cash flow. ServiceNow reported three point nine eight eight billion of subscription revenue, thirteen point six five billion of current RPO and a one point seven billion AI ACV target. Yet Palantir RPO grew only modestly and ServiceNow non-GAAP free cash flow must be reconciled with CFO, capex and acquisition adjustments. Stronger evidence does not lower the valuation gate automatically.
01 · SCORE & MEASUREMENT
Evidence maturity, not expected return
The 0–100 score measures maturity of the industry evidence chain, not expected return or a buy signal. Start with GAAP CFO, then reconcile capex, SBC, acquisitions and one-time adjustments. RPO, contracts, ACV, revenue and cash cannot be counted twice.

02 · WHAT CHANGED
Evidence before narrative
Palantir: revenue and cash scale together
Q3 revenue reached $2.313bn, up 96% year over year. U.S. commercial revenue was $984m, up 148%, and exceeded U.S. government revenue of $953m for the first time. Adjusted FCF was $1.216bn at a 53% margin; CFO was about $1.205bn.
Palantir: contracts did not move as fast as revenue
Total RPO was about $4.90bn versus roughly $4.88bn in Q2, an increase of about 0.4%. Short-term RPO rose while long-term RPO fell. The practical expedient also excludes some contracts of one year or less, so the gap is counter-evidence, not a mechanical bearish conclusion.
ServiceNow: AI reaches contracts and production use
Q3 subscription revenue was $3.988bn, up 21%. cRPO was $13.65bn, up 20.5%, and total RPO was $29.7bn, up 22%. Management raised its 2026 AI ACV target to $1.7bn and said production agentic-AI consumption grew more than 13x year over year.
ServiceNow: strong cash, definitions matter
Q3 CFO was $839m and company-defined non-GAAP FCF was $822m. Conventional CFO less capex was about $748m, with the difference reflecting acquisition and other adjustments. Q3 SBC was $633m and GAAP operating margin was 9.5%, well below the non-GAAP presentation.
Frontier models: no new comparable cash chain
OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, DeepSeek, Kimi, Zhipu and MiniMax did not provide a new listed-company-comparable revenue-to-profit-to-CFO-to-FCF chain in this window. Existing canonical evidence carries forward; valuation, ARR and users do not substitute for cash.
Earnings Intelligence classification
Palantir is L3 because the evidence changes the capital-return and valuation review; the same-day Meridian Living Page is reused and Human Review is requested. ServiceNow is L2 and enters the industry Weekly. Two deep dives remain below the normal weekly limit of three.
03 · THESIS → EVIDENCE → UPDATE
What the new evidence changes
Prior
Enterprise AI was beginning to deliver orders, profit and cash while model-layer capital discipline became harder.
Evidence
Palantir delivered 96% revenue growth and $1.216bn of adjusted FCF; ServiceNow combined 21% subscription growth, 22% RPO growth and a $1.7bn AI ACV target.
Update
Commercialization advances from company-specific cash evidence to cross-platform revenue-contract-cash verification. RPO durability, SBC, acquisition adjustments and valuation still block an automatic investment upgrade.
04 · NEXT VALIDATION
7D / 30D / 90D
| Window | What to validate |
|---|---|
| 7 days | Reconcile Palantir contract duration, SBC and RPO composition; reconcile ServiceNow CFO, capex and acquisition adjustments. |
| 30 days | Test whether net-new ACV/RPO continues to lead or at least match revenue growth. |
| 90 days | Compare recognized revenue, GAAP profit, CFO, FCF and incremental ROIC; do not substitute AI ACV or customer counts for owner cash. |
FAQ
Questions readers should ask
Does Palantir's 53% FCF margin equal owner cash?
Not directly. The measure adjusts SBC-related employer taxes and must be read with GAAP CFO, capex, SBC and dilution.
Does roughly 0.4% RPO growth negate 96% revenue growth?
No, but it is durability counter-evidence. Contract duration, short-term exemptions and recognition speed affect comparability.
Is ServiceNow AI ACV the same as AI revenue?
No. ACV is a contract-value metric; revenue, profit and cash are recognized over time.
Does a score of 91 imply a buy?
No. Weekly owns Evidence. Investment Intelligence owns Selection and Decision State, and all real actions require Human Approval.
